Share & Voice: Halloween...not so fun...

With Halloween just around the corner, I'm sure we're all ready to get a little festive.  I love the decorations, the candy, and of course the costumes.  One thing I always am looking forward to are the arts & crafts and yummy halloween treats you can make at home.

One thing I was going to do for all my little dancers that I teach was make some yummy Halloween Cookie/Cupcake sort of thing.  One of the things it required was something called "orange coloring mist."

So I went to Michaels and found this orange coloring mist and was excited to spend my night making these fun things for my students. I was just about to put the finishing touches of mist on the halloween treats & just happened to look at the ingredients....

My jaw dropped...Ethanol was the number one ingredient.  Next up arsenic.  And the list kept coming!  What the hell was I doing?!  Why would anyone produce something that people ingest containing all these chemicals?  Those things went straight in the garbage and I'm never not checking the ingredients of things again.  Never would I ever want to put that sort of mixture into my students.  There is the proof that we are killing our children...the next generation.

  1. That is horrible! Where do the makers of these products get off putting those chemicals in something that is supposed to be "edible?" Just goes to show you how corrupt this world is becoming, and how stupid they really think we are

  2. WOW! How is that even possible? How did that become foodstuff? Thank goodness you checked the ingredients. I guess the lesson here is to always check the list of ingredients, because things are never as safe as they may appear.

  3. Really?? That just sounds deadly. I'm not sure of the product why would it be out in the market if it is dangerous especially to eat? This is really strange. Thanks for the heads up on checking ingredients in products.

  4. Oh my goodness! That is terrible! how can that even be safe? How can that even be edible? Isn't there supposed to be some kind of regulatory system to make sure these things don't end up on our shelves. It makes me very scared!

  5. Ya that's not good, especially the arsenic. Do you know how much of it was in there? On a lighter note, I think it's sooo much fun to do Halloween decorations, etc. I just randomly baked Halloween cupcakes :)

  6. That's insane. Arsenic?! It's kind of scary that so many people don't know what they're buying and this is the kind of things that children are being exposed to. It's honestly disturbing. Think how many of those cans were already sold. I've noticed that sort of thing for a while now, so now I make it a point that I check the label on everything I buy.
